Week End Racing with Wick.

On Saturday the racing is at Newmarket, Newcastle, Chester, Windsor, Lingfield(ev) and
Wolverhampton(ev).
The big race at Newmarket is the Criterion Stakes at 3-35 and Munaddam looks a good thing.
At Newcastle the Northumberland Plate is the big one. In 2mile races like this it pays to go with
horses that have won over the distance. Several horses come into the reckoning,Greenwich Mean Time, Juniper Girl, and Colloquial all have a chance but Gee Dee Nen with a low weight
and a jockey in form has a great chance.
At Chester where the draw is so important in races upto 7 furlongs, both White Deer and
Viznau have the form and good draws.
We have evening meetings at Lingfield and Wolverhampton and on Sunday, flat meetings at
Salisbury and Windsor and over the jumps at Uttoxeter.

Week-End Racing by Wick.

There are meetings at Newcastle,Newmarket, Chester, Windsor, Lingfield(ev) and Wolverhampton(ev) on Saturday.
At Newcastle the big race is the Northumberland Plate. It is always a competitive race and it is
always best to go for a horse that has won over the distance so we have GreenwichMean Time,
Juniper Girl and Colloquial in with a chance but Gee Dee Nen with a low weight and a jockey in
form has a great chance. In the 2-10 at Newcastle Sierra Vista is a good bet.
At Newmarket, the big race is the Criterion Stakes at 3-35 where Munaddam looks a good thing.
At Chester the draw plays a vital part, especially in races upto 7 furlongs. Mark Johnston,s
White Bear has the form and draw to win the 3-25.
The evening meeting at Lingfield is on the all weather and the turf courses while Wolverhampton is on the all weather. On Sunday we have flat meetings at Salisbury and Windsor and jumps at Uttoxeter.

There,s four flat meetings on Wednesday at Carlisle,Salisbury Bath(ev) andKempton(ev). The
meeting at Worcester has been lost due to flooding.
At Carlisle the form horse is Networker in 3-00 while in the 4-00 Diamonds and Dust seems to
be the one. At Salisbury Apex in 4-10 looks to be the one.At the Bath evening meeting Drawback
in the 8-10 is the one.
Onthe all weather course at Kempton winners will take some finding as it is a very competitive
card.
On Thursday the Leicester meeting is subject to an inspection tomorrow(Wed). other meetings

Week-End Racing with Wick.

The most intriguing race Ascot on Saturday is the Golden Jubilee Stakes which is the British
leg of the Global Sprint Challenge to find the best sprinter in the world. Miss Andretti is the
favourite for the second time this week. Can he make it two wins in a week? The bookies think
so. Amadeus Wolf and Takeover Target are best of the rest.
In the Wokingham, Zidane is a clear favourite at around 5-1. So perhaps an each way bet is a
better option, if the ground is soft Hogmaneigh at around 10-1 is decent bet.
There are meetings at Newmarket, Redcar, Ayr Haydock(ev) and Lingfield(ev). At Newmarket, Zaahid in the 2-10 looks a good bet while at Ayr, Lacework in the 2-55 is worth
a bet.

The big race at Royal Ascot on Thursday is the Gold Cup which has attracted a field of top class
distance runners. Last years winner Yeats, is again a hot favourite, Sergeant Cecil is the best of
the rest.
In the Britannia Stakes Jamie Oborne,s Slate is having a good season, another with an excellent
chance is Mark Johnston,s Colorado Rapid who is also in form and you can be sure you will get
value for your money from any Johnston runner.
On Friday theKing Edward v11 Stakes has a strong international flavour and Aiden O,Brien and
Mark Johnston both have strong hands. In the Coronation Stakes O,Brien again has several
runners but this time the French provide the main challenge.

Royal Ascot with Wick.

Royal Ascot with Wick.

Royal Ascot with Wick.

Royal Ascot starts tomorrow (Tue) and the King,s Stand Stakes provides some intriguing
questions. The favourite Miss Andretti is one of three Australian raiders, one of the others,
Takeover Target won the race in 2006. Miss Andretti will have to overcome a bad draw to win.
Of the European challenges Dandy Man is very sharp if the ground is firm enough, if the ground
gets softer Beauty Is Truth will be a good each way bet. Cockney Rebel is favourite for the
St. James,s Palace Stakes where Duke Of Marmalade is a good each way bet. In the Queen Anne
Stakes, Red Evie takes on hot favourite George Washington.
On Wednesday,we have a big field for the Royal Hunt Cup and a good each way bet is Royal Oath. In the Prince Of Wales Stakes Dylan Thomas is a warm favourite but Sir Percy at 10-1 is
worth an each way bet.

Week-End Racing with Wick

There is a lot of racing Saturday with flat meetings Sandown, York, Bath, Liingfield(ev) and
Leicester(ev) and Hexham over the jumps.
The Sandown meeting will be hard to find winners although John Gosden has a couple of good
prospects.
At York Frankie Dettori has some good rides and should be in the frame, he also has a handful
of good rides at the Leicester evening meeting.
The man of the moment is Seb Sanders who is on a terrific run of good form. He rode four
wnners at Lingfield on Thursday and has had a few trebles in the last two or three weeks and
is now top of the Jockeys championship table. He has some good rides at Lingfield tomorrow
evening including two his boss Sir Mark Prescott who he credits for his great run of form.
